Planting Trees to Restore Ecosystems
Lalor Landcare was established in 2021.
We are a group seeking both to foster and directly implement the environmental rehabilitation of Edgars Creek where it runs through Lalor and surrounding areas.
We are currently focused on revegetation of the riparian (immediate banks) of Edgars Creek between the Chappell Street footbridge and the German Lane vehicular bridge. The water column itself we aim to clear of litter regularly and to gradually introduce a wider variety of native aquatic plants.
As fits our purpose, we also take part in more general activities that we consider promote sustainable lifestyles which might be seen to promote the larger environmental integrity of the local community and indeed of the wider world.
